"HR Scolarship Program"

The “HR Scholarship Program in Honor of Martyr Əhmədağa İskəndərov” has been established.

On September 20th, the "HR Scholarship Program in Honor of Əhmədağa İskəndərov" was established jointly by the Azerbaijan HR Institute and the Azerbaijan HR Society, with the aim of immortalizing the name of our HR colleague, martyr Əhmədağa İskəndərov, in the field of human resources.

The scholarship program duration is 3 months, with a scholarship amount of 1000 manat.

Members of the Azerbaijan HR Society, as well as graduates of the Azerbaijan HR Institute, are eligible to apply for the scholarship program.

Əhmədağa İskəndərov, son of Novruz, was born on September 20, 1989, in Baku. In 1996, he began first grade at Pilot-Secondary School No. 82 in N. Narimanov district, Baku. In 2007, he graduated from the same school and achieved high results in the university entrance exam conducted by the State Student Admission Commission, scoring 614.75 points, and was admitted to the Management specialty at the Faculty of Informatics and Management of the Azerbaijan State University of Economics, earning an excellent scholarship. During his university years, he focused on mastering his specialty deeply, paying particular attention to his core subjects. He graduated from Azerbaijan State University of Economics in 2011 and was called to service in the Armed Forces of the Republic of Azerbaijan the same year. He served in military unit "N" in Mingachevir and completed his service in 2012.

After returning from military service, he participated in several advanced courses in his field. In 2013, he began his professional career as a Human Resources Specialist at Veysəloğlu Group, a leading group of companies in the sales and distribution sector, and rose to the position of Head of HR Operations. Since 2018, he continued his professional activities at Saffron Restaurant Group, which includes some of the country's leading restaurants. Əhmədağa İskəndərov was one of the country's leading experts in the fields of Azerbaijan's Labor Legislation, Personnel Administration, and Payroll.

On September 21, 2020, he was called to military training by the State Service for Mobilization and Conscription of the Republic of Azerbaijan and joined the front lines from the first days of the “Patriotic War” that began on September 27, 2020, fighting for the restoration of our state's territorial integrity. He participated in our army’s successful operations in the Jabrayil-Fuzuli-Hadrut direction. On October 7, 2020, he heroically fell while fulfilling his duties in the battles for Fuzuli district. Posthumously, by the decree of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, he was awarded the "For the Motherland" medal on December 15, 2020, and the "For the Liberation of Jabrayil" medal on December 24, 2020.
