Women’s Entrepreneurship Summit 2025 was held on 19 November in Baku at Fairmont Flame Towers. Jointly organized by Azerbaijan HR Institute and Azerbaijan Women Entrepreneurs Development Association (AWEDA), the summit brought together women entrepreneurs, investors, public officials and innovation leaders.
The opening session featured speeches by Sadiq Aliyev, Chairman of the State Employment Agency; Orkhan Mammadov, Chairman of SMBDA; Turkey’s Ambassador to Azerbaijan Birol Akgün; Member of Parliament Vugar Bayramov; Emil Huseynov, Founder and Director of the Azerbaijan HR Institute; and Ofelya Salmanova, spouse of the late Major General Polad Hashimov. AWEDA Chairwoman Səkinə Babayeva addressed participants via a video message.
The summit’s panel discussions explored some of the most pressing topics shaping the future of women’s entrepreneurship - from innovation and digital transformation to leadership development, human capital trends and the expanding global role of women in business. Speakers from diverse sectors shared their insights and real-world experiences, emphasizing the growing influence of women across regional and international economic landscapes.
A highlight of the event was the presentation of the WE Impact Awards 2025. These awards honored individuals and organizations that have made significant contributions to the advancement of women’s entrepreneurship in Azerbaijan. More than a recognition of achievements, the ceremony served as a symbolic celebration of women’s leadership, vision and the positive social impact they create within the community.
